How to Use Torriden DIVE-IN Hyaluronic Acid Serum

Use Torriden DIVE-IN serum after cleansing and toner, morning and night: press 2 to 3 drops into skin that is still slightly damp, then follow right away with a moisturizer to seal the water in. Hyaluronic acid works by holding onto water, so the damp-skin step and the moisturizer on top matter as much as the serum itself.

What DIVE-IN serum is

DIVE-IN is a watery hydrating serum from the Korean brand Torriden, sold in a 50 ml (1.69 fl oz) dropper bottle. It is built around low-molecular hyaluronic acid. Torriden says it uses five different sizes of hyaluronic acid molecules, and the ingredient list shows five forms: sodium hyaluronate, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, sodium acetylated hyaluronate, sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer and hydrolyzed sodium hyaluronate.

Other notable ingredients include panthenol and allantoin, which the brand lists as key ingredients, plus ceramide NP and madecassoside further down the list. There is no fragrance on the ingredient list.

The texture is thin and fast-absorbing. It leaves skin feeling hydrated and slightly dewy without a sticky film, so it layers easily under other products.

Why damp skin matters

Hyaluronic acid is a humectant, meaning it attracts and holds water. Applying it to skin that is already slightly damp gives it water to hold right where you want it. That is also why a moisturizer on top is important: it helps keep that water from evaporating, especially in dry indoor air or in winter.

Damp does not mean dripping. Your face should feel slightly moist to the touch, as it does a few seconds after patting dry with a towel or right after a toner.

How to use it, step by step

  1. Cleanse. Use a gentle cleanser and pat your face lightly with a towel, leaving it a little damp.
  2. Toner (optional). If you use a hydrating toner, apply it now. It also keeps skin damp for the serum.
  3. Apply 2 to 3 drops. Put the drops in your palm or directly on your face. Spread over the face and press in with your palms rather than rubbing hard.
  4. Layer if you want more hydration. If your skin still feels tight, you can apply a second thin layer once the first has absorbed.
  5. Seal with moisturizer. Apply your moisturizer within a minute or so, while the serum still feels slightly tacky or moist.
  6. Morning: finish with sunscreen. In the morning, sunscreen goes on last, after your moisturizer.

Where it fits in a routine

A general rule for layering is thinnest to thickest. DIVE-IN is very thin, so it usually goes right after toner and before thicker serums, creams and sunscreen.

Simple morning routine:

  1. Gentle cleanse or rinse
  2. DIVE-IN serum on damp skin
  3. Moisturizer
  4. Sunscreen

Simple evening routine:

  1. Cleanse (double cleanse if you wore sunscreen or makeup)
  2. DIVE-IN serum on damp skin
  3. Any targeted serum you use
  4. Moisturizer

If you use another water-based serum, such as a niacinamide serum, you can apply DIVE-IN first and let it absorb before the next step. If you use a stronger active product that your skin finds irritating, a hydrating layer like this can make the routine feel more comfortable.

Who it suits

A good fit if you:

  • Have skin that feels tight or dehydrated, including oily skin that feels tight after cleansing
  • Have sensitive skin and want a simple, fragrance-free hydrating layer
  • Dislike sticky hyaluronic acid serums
  • Want a serum that works under almost anything, including makeup

You might skip it if you:

  • Have very dry skin and want a serum that also feels rich or oily (you will need a heavier moisturizer on top)
  • Prefer a minimal routine and your moisturizer already keeps your skin comfortable

What not to do

  • Do not skip the moisturizer in dry climates. In very dry air, a humectant layer without anything on top can leave skin feeling tighter once the water evaporates.
  • Do not use it as your only morning step. It is a hydrating serum, not a moisturizer and not sun protection.
  • Do not overload. More than a few drops rarely adds more benefit and can make the next layers pill.
  • Do not stack too many new products at once. If your skin reacts easily, add one new product at a time so you know what is working and what is not.

As a simple hydrating serum, DIVE-IN generally layers fine with other common skincare steps, including retinoids, exfoliating acids, vitamin C and niacinamide. The usual caution applies to those stronger products themselves, not to the hyaluronic acid.

FAQ

Do I have to apply it on damp skin?

It works on dry skin too, but slightly damp skin gives the hyaluronic acid water to hold, and many people find their skin feels more hydrated that way.

Can I use it morning and night?

Yes. It is designed for twice-daily use, after cleansing and toner.

Do I still need a moisturizer?

Yes, for most skin types. The serum adds water; the moisturizer helps keep it in. Oily skin may only need a light gel cream.

Is DIVE-IN serum fragrance-free?

There is no fragrance on its ingredient list.

Can I use it with retinol or exfoliating acids?

Generally yes. A hydrating layer often makes routines with stronger products feel more comfortable. Introduce new actives slowly and stop if your skin becomes irritated.

How many drops should I use?

Two to three drops for the face. Add a second thin layer if your skin still feels tight.
